F45 Training Launches 45-Day Challenge to Support the Fight Against Cancer
October 2024
F45 Training, is proud to announce a meaningful partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS) and Battle Cancer to raise awareness about cancer prevention, the benefits of functional fitness, and the power of community. This initiative is part of the annual F45 Challenge, a 45-day holistic fitness and lifestyle program, starting October 7, 2024.
According to the ACS, preventative factors such as maintaining a healthy weight, staying physically active, eating well, and limiting alcohol consumption can significantly reduce cancer risk.1 Alarmingly, 18% of all cancers and 16% of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. are linked to these factors.2 This year’s F45 Challenge highlights the role of functional fitness in promoting healthier lifestyles and offers an avenue for members worldwide to contribute to the fight against cancer.
A Global Effort: The Battle Cancer Takeover
From October 21-27th, F45 Training will elevate its awareness efforts through the Battle Cancer Takeover, a collaboration with the global nonprofit organization Battle Cancer. During this week, members across the globe will aim to collectively achieve a 20-million-point target, symbolizing the 20 million people diagnosed with cancer annually. F45 studios will host a Battle Cancer finisher workout, encouraging participants to push their limits, track their reps in the F45 Training App, and help hit the global goal.
In addition, F45 is offering exclusive F45 Challenge x Battle Cancer t-shirts, with a portion of proceeds supporting the ACS in the U.S. and Battle Cancer globally.
Functional Fitness as Preventative Care
“Cancer affects everyone in some way, whether directly or through a loved one,” said Tom Dowd, CEO of F45 Training. “This year’s F45 Challenge is not just about raising awareness but also about educating communities on the preventative benefits of functional fitness. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against cancer.”
The ACS recommends 150-300 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75-150 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity weekly(3). The F45 Challenge provides some of the tools and guidance to help members achieve these goals, offering custom meal plans, expert coaching, progress tracking, and wellness education.
A Call to Action
“Staying active, eating well, and maintaining a healthy weight can significantly reduce cancer risk,” said Shana Neuberger, Senior Executive Director of the American Cancer Society in Southern California. “Partnerships like this with F45 Training amplify the message that everyone can take steps toward a healthier future while supporting those affected by cancer.”
