My F45DH Journey
In mid-2019, my daughter coaxed me to F45DH despite my disdain for gyms. I am fairly active playing squash weekly but disliked gym as I found it boring and never had the discipline to workout solo.
The first F45 (weights) class was an eye opener! What seemed simple exercises were difficult to master. I couldn’t even squat nor balance properly! I thought I was fit for a man nearly 60 but at the end of the class, I was shattered. My body ached for days, even in places I didn’t know had muscles. I did not return for a few months and then slowly started going once a week, twice a week and more. Every class was a struggle, totally tired at the end and aching every day. Over time my form improved and the exercises got easier. Months later, I joined cardio classes and they brought a whole new level of excitement and tiredness. time, the tiredness still remained but the aches disappeared and recovery became faster.
Then COVID happened. Thankfully, F45 had online workouts and these classes became my daily highlight during lockdowns. The first physical class after lockdown was great and liberating.
Now 4 years later, F45DH has become my HOBBY where I workout 5 to 6 times per week before going to work. I have even tried F45 overseas when on business trips. It becomes a big disappointment if I miss a few days in a row.
F45DH has given me
Normal BMI having lost 12kg in excess weight despite eating anything I wanted!
More muscle
Less fat
Faster recovery
More energy
Less body aches
I had always hated gyms until I discovered F45 which has now become my Go-To hobby. Thank you to the community for this adventure as the bigger the class, the more energy I have for the workouts.
